I often find inspiration for project names within my environment. On a particularly chilled November morning, as I looked at the sunroof of our car and saw it had frosted over, almost as if the sky was frozen. That led me to think of the name “Our Sky Froze Over.”
The style of stop motion animation I focused on with OSFO was a vast departure from my usual clay based style, as I took a more fabric based approach. This stylistic choice was in part due to inspiration I’ve drawn from recent feature length stop motion films that have been released on Netflix such as, The House & Robin Robin. As well as by smaller independent studios and creators

With my project for this year’s Year End Review, I presented myself with great challenges that I had never encountered in a big animation before: writing a script, directing voice actors, lip syncing, and most importantly, leading the project of a very small team. I also had a story that was more concrete than my previous works. When I challenged myself with these things, I purposely aimed at my weak points or points that I didn’t have too much or any experience in.
